Sorry this is so late I’ve been fighting a cold all day.

Dio’s fingers were cold and goose bumps covered his body as he made his way to the werewolf meeting. Varick told him they always met by the log cabin and had a meeting and drinks. Apparently they sated their hunger on the local wildlife but did shots afterwards.

Werewolves were weird.

Rubbing his arms to try to regain some heat he approached the wooden structure. A low growl froze him in his tracks. Making sure he moved slowly he pivoted on his heel until he faced the enormous creature.

The wolf stood higher than Dio’s waist with fur a mottled grey brown.

Not Varick.

Some people might think all the wolves looked the same but not Dio, he knew his mate even in wolf form.

Anger sparked through him heating his chilled body.

“What do you want?”

He met the wolf’s eyes, not backing down. He might not be the baddest demon or even vampire but he could take a werewolf.

The creature snarled and without warning, attacked.

Dio easily stepped to one side and punched the beast in the head as it passed.

The wolf howled and shaking it’s head attacked again.

With super speed, Dio avoided the animal again. As the wolf passed he grabbed its tail and swung it around before letting the creature fly. He smiled at the loud thump it made.

Not willing to admit defeat the wolf shook itself off and charged.

Dio sighed. Holding out his hand palm out he pushed some magic through the air. Ice formed around the shifter trapping it in a frozen cage.

Snarling and howling the wolf slammed against it’s confinement.

Dio folded his arms and watched the shifter slam his head over and over before collapsing on the floor of his new frozen home.

A stirring in the air told him his lover had returned.

Varick stomped forward in distractingly naked human form. “What did you do my love?”

“That wolf attacked me.” Dio scowled at Varick. He wouldn’t apologize. It wasn’t his fault the other creature lost its friggin’ mind.

“What do you mean he attacked you?”

“I mean I was walking back to the cabin and he jumped at me. What do you think I meant?”

Varick walked around the cage. “And you captured him?”

“Well, I could’ve set him on fire but I thought you’d object.”

“Your mate clearly won the battle.” A female shifter walked forward. Dio vaguely remembered Varick introducing her as Lucy or Luna or something.

Varick smiled. “I think you’re right Lisa. By the rights of the pack Dio is now considered equal to me.”

Dio rolled his eyes. “I’m so glad we straightened that out. Now who has the booze.”
