  1. Before playing with dolls, my favorite toy to play with was the Lincoln Logs. My brothers and I loved to build things with those logs. It was also one of those times when we actually got along (I was the only girl).

  2. My favorite toy when I was younger was this quintuplet baby toy set. I think it was quints at least. It was like Barbie but it was babies and there was whole toy sets from carnival stuff to strollers. It was one of my favorite toys growing up. I think my mom may still have the toys somewhere in her garage for when I have kids.

    • I had them … So loved them… Had loads of different sets for them… Everything came in fives… Don’t see them anymore or even any mention of them….

  3. He’s cute. I was not that mechanically inclined..I’m still not. LOL. My favorite toy was my teddy bear. He was the one who I read to as a child.

  4. My Barbie collection. I had the best collection of my friends. I don’t recall if I really enjoyed playing with them or just having my friends over, and I admit I enjoyed their envy.

  5. I was obsessed with my nintendo 64 I love to play intill late at night me and my brothers would stay up past curfew because we all wanted to win the competition the next day we looked like zombies lol my fav game Mario party :) i loved spending time with my brothers it was our special time

    • Sorry it clicked before I finished happy birthday to your lil man hope he gets all he wished for and do much more on his special day

  6. Happy Birthday to your little one. I use to love to play with Barbie dolls. I would build homes for them with things around the house and play all day long.

  7. my favorite as a child was, when i was playing alone my barbies and when me and my two brothers were playing together it was lego’s and that was 25 or more years ago

  8. My favorite was a big, beautiful doll that walked and talked. This was years and years (and decades…….) ago so the toys available were not as cool as the ones you can buy now!

  9. My hot wheel city! I could lose myself in that city for hours! Then I learned to read and it was a toss up!!

  10. So cool that your son & I share the same birthday. OMG…I can’t remember what I liked as a child. I think it was some sort of kitchen play dough set. I don’t think I was too fond of dolls since I see pics with all their heads pulled off LOL

  11. my favorite toy was really not my toy it was my big brothers remeber the little red wagons i think they still have them well i use to take it and put all my stuff in it and walk up and down the street like i was having a parade it was a ball eventullly that little red wagon ended up being mine lol

  12. My favourite as a child was building a cubby house under the kitchen table with an old sheet over it and then playing with my barbies in there. Used to spend hours under there much to my mum’s amusement.

    • Oh forgot to add, Wish your son a very Happy Birthday!! Hope he has an awesome day :-)

  13. I was addicted to my easy bake oven. I really thought I could bake especially since my dad would tell me I was the greatest cook in the world:)

  14. I have to say my sisters and I played with boy toys. The toys I loved the most was the green army men. We always got a bucket of them for Chirstmas. We also got Legos and barrel of monkeys.

  15. Happy Birthday to your leggo lovin little guy..:) My favorite toys were…Lincoln Logs, cars and trucks in the sand pile :) and a Raggedy Ann doll. The cars and truck may seem odd for a girl…I like tto think of myself as the first Ice Road truckin mama….lol

  16. My favorite toys when I was a kid were probably my lincoln logs and another building set that I can’t remember the name of but was plastic and had several sizes and shapes and came with plans for how to make specific things like buildings and machines. Of course I had the Barbies and My Little Ponies but I played with the building set up to about 11 or 12 because it was so fun.

  17. I remember my mom and nana freaking out cause I wanted hot wheels for my birthday, they got me a doll with a little stroller – but my dad and papa got me lots of hot wheels with track!! Nana was horrified when I set it up on her dining room table, papa told her to leave me alone and let me play! I don’t think the doll ever came out of the box! LOL

Hope you son got all the lego he could ever want – I also used to love getting that stuff for gifts too. Party on kiddo, and (word of advice) don’t leave out the lego for mom to vacuum, it sucks to be missing parts!!!

  18. My dad and brothers made me a baby crib for my 8th birthday. The end post were taller then me with shorter sides, painted white, and had little fairy tale pictures. I loved it. I still have it for my daughter.

  19. my most favorite toys were star wars action figures, they would date my barbies! It was a blast and I still have them all. My kids don’t think they are very cool at all so they dont’ play with them, but they are here none the less

    • P.S. Your son is absolutely adorable!!! Tell him happy birthday from us here in Jacksonville, Fl.

  20. oh, Happy Birthday for your son! He is wonderful :)
Actually, I didn’t have a one favorite toy. My sister (one year younger) and I we played together big famous English Ladys by taking our mother cloths. Long skirts, plastic plates as a caps and her shoes. It was wonderful, and made me love England. Now I live here, so my dream come true.
    Cheers :)

  21. Mine would be my Barbie dolls. I could play with them all day. My cousin and I would pretend our Barbies were princess Leia, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and the rest of the characters from Return of the Jedi, and the rest of the Star Wars movies. (We grew up in the 80’s…lol)

  22. Happy Birthday little one!!! Growing up you wouldn’t find me without this action figure of the red power ranger. I was obsessed with the power rangers as a child.

  23. Happy Birthday to the legomaniac!!! May he have a happy & creative building day!!!

As for me, I loved LiteBrite and was heartbroken when Mom decided I had outgrown it and gave it to a younger neighbour :(
A smaller version came out in the Sears Wishbook catalogue a couple of years ago and my bestfriend got it for me for Christmas :)

  24. I loved Spirograph it was a series of clock wheel like circles that interlocked and with coloured pens it made awesome shapes. In fact I still have it 40+ years later. Hope the youngest had an awesome birthday, I have a legomad grandson he’s nearly 3.

  25. Happy birthday to your lego loving boy! I know I went through an intense barbie phase, but what I remember most was disney movies more so than toys. I would sing along and spend hours and hours with my eyes glued to the tv. so would that be the tv? ::shrugs::

    juliebites at gmail dot com

  26. Happy Birthday and Many Good Tidings to your Legomaniac :)! As a kid I went through an intense phase we’re I was collecting beanie babies. This in turn led to doll warfare with my little brother, where each beanie baby acted as a missile and we would build our trenches on opposite sides of the room before hurling them at each other…if we weren’t doing that, we took the beanie babies on Safari expeditions through the yard on huge remote control trucks…we were odd children…

  27. i had a pink tartan elephant called eddie. he went everywhere with me. i even made a wee jacket for him. he had big ears with matte satin for the insides and satin on the pads for his feet. i loved him to thinness (he lost all his stuffing from me hugging him all the time.)

    • OMG – my daughter had the same thing – she still has it and shares it with her boys now!! She also loved it to nothing, so I opened up a stitch and restuffed it for her. Now she does that for her boys witht it.

  28. Happy Birthday to Legomaniac. My son was also a legomaniac (he is now 24) until he discovered gameboy. Barbies was my choice when I was a child.

  29. As a child I thought my favorite toy was the My Little Ponies, but now as an adult I look back and think of the things that influenced me the most, and strangely enough, it has to be the transformers! Optimus Prime is still my hero!

  30. Of course Barbie was big on my favorite list but I really liked tinker toys. I also remember playing Jarts when they were sharp pointed steel tipped things. Those were the days (sigh). Isn’t it amazing how we managed to survive with toys like that, no seat belts, car seats, bike helmets, etc.etc.

  31. When I was very young it was a rocking dolphin ( I had to be different even then and couldn’t have a rocking horse like everyone else) and when I was older it was my bike I loved the sense of freedom it gave me.

  32. My favourite toy when I was younger was my care bear teddy which I still have… Got it for my birthday complete with care bear movie on video which went blue from over watching it… Lol… Cheer bear is still looking good..

  33. My favorite toys were Legos and Barbie’s. My sister and I used to combine the two toys to make houses and stores for the Barbies. I really wish I had the cool sets they now have.

Happy Birthday to your little one!

  34. I have so many fond memories of my son and his lego’s (mostly Star Wars). My favorite toy what Barbie. I brought her/them everywhere.

  35. My favorite toy was Barbie. I had a balarina and cowgirl barbie and a cowboy ken, large pink limo and a barn with two horses. I loved that set.

  36. My favorite toy was actually my brothers G.I. Joe men. I’d borrow them and play with them and leave him my Barbies.

  37. Happy Birthday Legomaniac! I had an Erector set that I loved. And it was very strange for a girl to have one since back then it was considered a “boy” toy.

  38. I think my favorite toy was crayola crayons. I would color in coloring books, outside on the pavement, blank pieces of paper. My only limitation was my imagination.

  39. Happy Birthday future architect, as a child I too loved the Legos although I did split time between that and my Atari that my Me-Ma bought me (although it seems my Da liked it too as we fought over it ^_^).

  40. Happy B-Day, little guy! My sister and I were all about My Little Pony. She had the Beauty Shop and we would fight like crazy over it.

  41. Today is my husband’s 46th birthday. Happy Birthday to your little one. My son is also a legomaniac. But he will only put them together once and now he takes pieces from them and makes his own. So we have a ton of piece and I don’t think I will ever be able to seperate them again. Let toy I was into was My Little Pony. Not really sure why but loved them.

  42. Happy Birthday!! Let’s see, my favorite toy as a child was a stuffed monkey – he was about 24″ tall with a yellow top half and black bottom half – no silly banana in his funny plastic hands; he was much more special than those common monkeys. He had a soft plastic face and I remember my Grandma and I sitting outside on the porch swing and putting saltine crackers in his mouth and squeezing his lips. He looked sort of like Cookie Monster puppet on Sesame Street with crumbs flying out of his mouth, LOL.

  43. Happy Birthday!!! My first favorite toy that I remember was my older brothers G. I. Joe. He never got to play with him because I was always stealing him, my mother got me a Barbie and I cut her hair off and dressed her in G. I. Joe’s clothes and she joined up.

  44. My favorite toy was my jacks and balls as I grew older I loved to play ball with the guys. no girls in our little neiborhood, haha made me a tomboy. and I loved my bike.

  45. Not really a toy, but it was what I “played” with most and spent most time with. Books. Some kids want to stay up to play with Barbie or watch TV and I hid a flashlight under my pillow to circumvent my concerned parents. A toy does not really stick in my memory from my past. It was always books. Going to the library was a diven gift : )
Anyway, happy birthday to the boy. I have always failed at legos so good for him. My creativity does not stretch that far.

  46. I prefered to read but if I was rousted out to look after my younger sister then it was Barbie. We had a playhut that was quite large and filled with toys but that was for wet days only. There was also a huge galvinised swing set that I think my uncle made and a nature strip with a creek down the back of the garden for summer play. But that was over 40 years ago and it’s all built out now.

  47. Happy Birthday!
I liked the usual – my Barbies, coloring, my bike, tinker toys, books, etc, but I was totally obsessed with horses. Not that they’re toys, but as of the age of six I rode them, played with them, and pretty much spent most of my free time at the ranch.

  48. Books! books! and more books!
But, for several years my favourite ‘toy’ was a chemistry set my dad bought me. He was a carpenter and built this wonderful wooden desk come container for all the test tubes and ingredients. It all folded up neatly. I made some wonderful concoctions with it.
PS what is it with Barbies? I just don’t understand….

  49. When I was younger, I loved to read (that hasn’t changed!) but my little brother loved playing with legos, so I would usually play with him when he asked. I think he had every set every ever made by the time he was 10!

  50. Happy Birthday to your legomaniac! :D I think it’s cool that my youngest son’s birthday is today, too.

As for my favorite toy, that would be my books! I was always reading, especially under the covers with a flashlight at night. LOL

  51. Most ladies would say barbie was their favorite toy when a little girl. I liked barbie but my favorite was hot wheels and tinker toys. I like building things then wre king my hot wheels into them lol… I hope your son has a fun filled awesome birthday.

  52. OMG Amber, that picture is so adorable, he’s so cute, surrounded by all his Legos. LOL A Very Happy Birthday to your Youngest, may he have a fun-filled Lego Day :)

My favorite toys were my Lincoln Logs & my Lite Bright, I could be occupied with those for hours & hours, I loved creating things.

Take Care & Have A Great Day,

  53. A very Happy Birthday to your legomaniac I hope he has a very good birthday!

When I was forced to be inside I loved playing with the old Fisher Price farm, it was a barn and animals and fencing. But during the summer my favorite place to be was in the lake in the back yard. You generally could find me there morning to dinner time.

  54. When I was a kid, it was Barbies. Them I discovered Harlequin romances & those became my favorite toys.

  55. Happy Birthday to your boy!!
My favorite toy was a doll name Rosalba and she was 4 feet tall. I love that doll and play with it all the time.

  56. My favorite toys were GI Joes and Transformers, and then I discovered books, and never left my room again.

  57. I hope your son is having a great birthday!!!!
my favorite toy as a child was lego but not the complex ones just the small blocks that you could build what ever you wanted with….

  58. I would have to say Legos as well. My brother was a huge legos fan and we would help him all the time. He has all the Star Wars collectors from when the original movie came out. He still has them at age 41!

  59. happy birthday little man!!! My fave toy growing up was a cardboard box that I made into a rustic log cabin for my barbie doll. It had everything, even red and white paper curtains.

  60. Happy Birthday to the little legomaniac. I used to have this my little pony at my grandparents house that I would play with all the time. My grandparents actually still have it. I loved that thing. I also played with my barbies a lot. My sister used to set them on fire though. LOL Hope your little man has a fantastic birthday though!

  65. I hope this is a great birthday for your cutie!
When I was a little girl I was all about dolls! Barbies, Polly Pockets, Disney princesses, porcelain, and baby dolls! I have to say baby dolls were one of my favorites. I used to stick them under my shirt because my mom did that with my baby brother… At the time I thought it was funny since I had no clue about breast feeding!

  66. When I was little I was obsessed with the video games mainly the sega system and Sonic the Hedgehog!!!

  67. Happy Birthday to your son! Back in the stone ages (lol) I enjoyed Tinker Toys and Lincoln Logs. My soon to be 15 year-old son is a Legomaniac as well, and I still get after him to pick up his pieces when he is done “cause nothing hurts worse than finding a forgotten piece with your bare foot!

  68. Actually I didn’t have a favorite toy. We lived and still live in the country and I always roamed outside (climbing trees, playing in the small river, hide and seek,…). I had a wonderful childhood

  69. While I enjoyed my Barbie’s, my favorite toys were my cap guns. We played “cowboys & indians” ( I was always the Indian!” and “cops & robbers”.

  70. I think mine was a “Light Bright” and when I was a little older I had a barbie swimming pool that my pet Gecko played in

  71. fickle as a child, but i’ll stick my guns with the creature that’s stayed with me the longest: pandy, the beanie baby panda

  72. I really loved my connector set, and well probably My favorite was blanket forts made with coach cushions and ever blanket/afghan/sheet I could find.

  73. He is soooo adorable!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HIM!!!! my 11 year old son loves loves loves anything lego, he has for several years now. It’s amazing what they can build with them. And the sets, I don’t know where we are going to put them anymore lol.
As for my favorite toy, I think at that time it would have been my strawberry shortcake doll and my little ponies. I absolutely loved both of them. After that it went to lincoln logs, barbies and G.I Joes or tranformers which my brothers and I played together with, not the barbies though lol Those they would steal and undress and mess up their hair when I wasn’t around. lol
Hope your son has a great day today!

  74. My favorite toy as a child, and still as an adult, is a pen and paper. I would draw or write stories. Still do!

  75. Gotta say Barbie dolls. I know, pretty predictable for a girl but I just adored my Barbie’s! Happy Birthday to your son!

  76. My favorite toy was barbies with my sisters & I think it was called a gameboy some game device with my brothers. Lol.
Happy 7th birthday to your son!
Hope he has a ton of fun! :o

  77. I learned to read by 3 so my thing was books books and more books. I cannot even guess how many times I read the Trixie Belden books add in the bobsey Twins and a little Nancy Drew plus anything else I could get my hands on.
A huge Happy Birthday to your little man he looks to be having great fun =)

  78. Omg! I loved Weebles! I had the Weeble Holiday in with families, luggage and employees. I would play with them for hours!

  79. He is sooooo cute. Happy Birthday to him!! I didn’t really have a favorite toy. It was kind of more about books when I was growing up. However, when I lived in Germany as a kid, we would get these chocolate eggs called KinderEggs that had little toys inside that I absolutely loved. They would come in little plastic containers inside the chocolate and consist of figurines or games or little toys you put together. I miss them a lot! I don’t know if they still make them but I hope so. I still have a collection of them and plan on sharing them with my nieces when they get a little older.

  80. Hello Amber,
I am from Uganda and a big fan of your books and blog. Have read all of them…seriously!

For the contest, my favorite doll growing up in rural western Uganda was also my only doll(s), and those were the banana fibre dolls. Growing up in poverty, we didn’t have the luxury of buying, or even accessing more modernized dolls, so we would make them ourselves using dried banana fibres (bananas are a staple crop for most tribes in Uganda and their fibres are readily accessible and strong when sun-dried) Here is a link to see what they look like:

    http://www.objectlessons.org/childhood-and-games-world/banana-fibre-doll-uganda/s82/a350/

I really hope to be picked for the free books, it’s hard getting your books out here. I have to have a friend in the U.S buy them and send them to me. Thanks. RoanM

  81. I have to think for a minute about what my favorite toy was when I was young…I have to say that my favorite toy wasn’t really a toy but tools. My dad is a mechanic and I would help him on the weekends it was my favorite time besides reading. Books have always been a favorite. My taste has changed over the years but I have always been an avid reader.

  82. My favorite toy as a child? Had to have been my Barbies!! Happy Birthday to your little guy!!

  83. Stuffed animals. I collected them. If I saw an animal that I didn’t have I would try to convince whoever was with me.to buy it for me.

  84. Happy birthday to your son. I hope he has lots of fun today.

For me, my favorite toys growing up were Playmobile and Smurfs. We lived in Germany for a few years when I was younger and these toys come out there long before they did here. I remember coming back and being amazed at how few you could find and how expensive they were! I had many different sets of the Playmobile, many of which they didn’t even have here. I had the entire Smurf village and dozens of the characters themselves. I saved them for years before the storage unit they were stored in was cleaned out by a thief. :(

  85. Favorite toy was the farm animals you got in the plastic bag, I would go collect bottles along side of the road and turn them in to get candy or farm animals. lol

  86. oh wow, the one toy i was obsessed with as a kid.. hmm. i’d have to say my lite-brite. i can’t remember how old i was back then, however when i was a kid i had issues with walking. due to this, i spent hours upon hours locked in my room just playing with that thing. in the process of having it i burnt out three or four of the bulbs and had to have it completely replaced twice, heh.

Happy Birthday to your son! :)

  87. My favorite toy growing up was these stuffed animals that had babies. There was like a pocket the babies went into in the stomach of the “mom”. It was my favorite to develop stories around them. I am an only child so I loved building stories with big families with lots of kids.

  88. Books! At that age I was devouring all things Jane Austen, Bronte sisters, Charles Dickens, Edgar Allen Poe, Louisa May Allcot, and everything else of a classical nature. I loved reading all the witty banter and droll musings of my favorite characters. I must have reread Pride and Prejudice a thousand times. It’s still my all time favorite.

  89. My favorite toy growing up was my Barbie dolls, me and my sister had boxs upon boxs of barbie things. Cloths, extra dolls and the greatest thing was the Barbie ice cream maker. You could make real ice cream with it. And when you were done the spoons turned into seats for Barbie and her friends to sit on at the ice cream parlor.

  90. Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys. Legos is the favorite of son #2 which is why he has to pack them all up before he joins the military next month since hhis closet is full of them.

  91. Happy birthday to your son. Hope his birthday is filled with fun surprises ^.^

Well, my toy when I was young was something more traditional like ball jacks or jumping rope made by rubber band. I played it together with my siblings and cousins. It was a lot of fun until I learned to read and got introduced to manga then expanding my reading from there.

  92. Lego was my favorite too, being disabled I spent a lot of time on the floor and I loved my lego, I love how timeless it is

    Happy Birthday Legoman!!!

  93. I had a stuffed animal I was given as a toddler – and I adored that thing! I am not even sure what it was supposed to be – possibly a dog, since it had long ears. I slept with it for YEARS. Good old Polly suffered through numerous surgeries – limb re-attachments, eye replacements, you name it. All of her fur was rubbed completely off. My Mom had her restored for me as much as possible when I was an adult. So, yes, Polly is still in my life!

  94. I loved my trolls. I had them in all sizes and hair colors. My kids loved their legos and my youngest, at 20, still does. Happy Birthday to your little LegoMan

    Donna

  95. My fav toy as a child was anything my older brother didn’t want me to play with lol i used to love my doll house i loved trying to make it perfect though my parents kept dispairing when i i wanted to keep changing where the walls were and moving the staircase. i never had dolls for it though i just liked changing the house.

  96. I loved my Madame Alexander dolls which I would hide when my cousins came over. They were doll abusers, one of them bit them fingers off one of my dolls. I love to build lego stuff with my grandsons. Happy Birthday youngun!

  97. Happy Birthday to your little man!! My favorite toys were the Barbie horses and I still have them, but now they are just horse figurines.

  98. I was addicted to Technic Lego, I had this amazing fire truck which could also be changed into a jeep with a hangar and jeep attached to it. I also regularly stole my brother’s spaceship and kept rebuilding it. Sometimes I really want to build something again but unfortunately my parents sold the whole lot of it and to this day I haven’t justified buying it for myself :P

    • Of course the second jeep there is in fact a speedboat :P guess I am more tired than I thought I was >.<

  99. It’s funny you should ask this question I loved this toy so much and talked about it so much I recieved one for my last birthday from my best friend an Easy Bake Oven.

  100. Since growing up with little to no financial means, I would say I love to make animal shapes out of clay and played with them.

  101. Happy Birthday to a fellow legomaniac. My favorite toys growing up were my legos and the original tiny piece Polly pockets.

  102. Happy Birthday 7 year old legomaniac! I can’t remember what my favorite toy was when I was little but I remember having a lil miss singing mermaid doll that I loved very much. I also had (and still do) an American Girl Doll (Samantha). I’ve always loved cute stuffed animals (with big eyes).

  103. Happy Birthday to your son, may he have many, many happy & healthy ones to come! My favorite toy was my “Baby That A Way”, it was one of the first that crawled & I still have her!

    Priscilla

  104. I loved anything Scooby Doo related. That and Barney. I obsessively watched Barney and the Lion King, and if I saw something Scooby, I had to have it. And tell your son I wish him a very happy birthday!!

    tiger-chick-1(at)hotmail(dot)com

  105. I was a barbie girl…I had everything the houses the cars, and GOD the clothes SO many clothes ! Lol

  106. Happy birthday to your little man. The toy I played with the most with my two brothers when we were little was drum roll please…..LEGOS. But, our legos were not a created specific set like they are now. Ours had the flat green sqaure and you built houses with trees and flowers. It was simple but your imagination helped you create. I still miss those legos but they got thrown away by my mom when my brothers’ room did not get picked up in a timely manner one to many times. I also had three Cabbage patch dolls. Still do I think, there packed away in a box somewhere. As we got a little older my favorite thing to do was watch my younger brother play Zelda on the first Nintendo. I was not coordinated enough to play myself but I loved watching him play. I now sometimes sit and watch my husband play computer games.

  107. Happy birthday to your son. Do books count as toys? They have always been my favourtie pastime. Otherwise I used to love the my little pony toys.

  108. Happy birthday to the Legoman! My favorite toy growing up was dolls. My husband however was also a legomaniac, he still wishes he could play with them.

  109. Happy Birthday! Ok I will sound like a true geek – book worm and crochet geek from 10 on. unless my living breathing cats count….

  110. My favourite was an old TV box which I decorated and painted and turned into an aquarium. I made little cardboard fish and hung them from the top with fishing line (probably in poor taste that) and cardboard water plants for the bottom. I spread glass wishing stone over the base. I attached fishing line to the front and back of a toy boat and strung it across the box, putting the string through holes in the side so i could pull from either end and have the boat sail across the water. I loved that box, in the end I think I gave it to my Grandma for her 70th.

  111. I’m 18 and last Christmas my mom got me the Harry Potter Diagon Alley Lego set. Best present of my life!

  112. Happy Birthday!!!! Have a great day. I had this 3 feet tall Pink Panther Doll, in the early 80’s. He was the same height I was. He was my best friend, I love him so much……. Wish I still had it, not sure what happen to him. I was a doll girl. Love my doll ^_^

  113. My favorite toy as a kid was my american girls doll (Samantha). They don’t even make her anymore and I have had her 19 years. Luckily she is still in great condition!

  114. Happy Birthday to the legomaniac. All my kids (4 of them) love legos. Even my only girl. She wanted a spongebob set for xmas. My oldest boy (13) got the lego death star for xmas. My favorite toy as a kid was a white stuffed kitty that has a built in radio.

  115. I had a blue puffalump cat that I carried around everywhere and my brother had the elephant and I vaugely recall both tea parties and wrestling matches between the two of them.

  116. Happy birthday to your lil legomaniac~ I remember the days where I hated my brother’s lego collection as well cause I used to step on them all the time too >< My fav toy when back when was my toy kitchen set with all its pots and pans and fake food ^^

  117. Happy Birthday to your Lego Master( I remember all of his masterpieces that you posted). My favorite toy was my Easy Bake Oven. I was the only girl so I used baked goods to get my brothers to do things for me and to make my daddy birthday and father’s day cakes.

  118. Happy Birthday!!! I don’t know if anyone else remembers her but mine was a Pamela Doll, she came with an overall outfit and cassette-like cards you put in her, and she could interact with you. You could also buy a party dress for her, I had it all.

  119. Happy birthday to your little guy!! I was a kid in the late 80’s early 90’s and I remember my favorite toy being my little pony’s! My parents never had a lot of money so every time I would get a new one my dad would tell me to take care of it……I still have them today in mint condition! My 4 year old and 1 year old have a huge toy story toy collection they love to set them up and play pretend games :)
:) I hope your little guy had a great birthday!

  120. I’ll have to go with either Barbies or I had a doll that my grandparents got me that I also took everywhere with me.

  121. My favorite toy was not really a toy, per say. I had a Fisher Price record player and I loved it. I would listen to the books on records that they had for children. My aunt told me I would spend hours listening and following along with the books that came with the record. Even as a child, I loved to read.

  122. This is embarrassing to admit, but I was a Barbie girl. I loved to play with them. Actually, I have always been a bit if a neat freak or partially OCD so I never took them out of the box. I played with them in the box and just pretended they talked. Fascinating, right? On the plus side, they were collectible so worth money later down the road and still in original condition.

  123. I really loved playing with my barbies but I think my favorite thing to play with was my
Grandmother had an old metal case full of buttons. I used to pretend that all the ones that were the same were family. I basically used them like most kids would play with dolls.

  124. First, happy birthday to your son! My dad’s birthday is tomorrow too, though he is turning a bit older than 7. Add a 5 in front of that and you get old age.
Well, I loved rokenbok as a kid. Basically, you constructed your own power/industrial plant. You made a monorail track and it would go around and there were remote controls. There were trucks and various stations. Once you constructed everything, you could run the plant on batteries. It was the coolest thing. You don’t see things like that today. My parents still probably have it in their closets. Now I have to ask.
    *runs jovially away*

  125. Wishing your cutie a great birthday and many legos to enjoy.
My favorite toy was my show ‘n tell, a tv/record player that had a slot for the film strip to go into, which would advance as the story was read. It was the best, next to my Bobbsey Twins books and playing jacks with my Granny on summer days.

  126. Happy Birthday to your little guy!! I always wanted a Barbie, but I never got one :( So I was happy with my other dolls. ;)

  127. Happy birthday to your little man( can’t wait for my son’s next month). My favorite toy as a child was my toy hand puppet i named Spot who always listened to my problems and a horse bracelet i got given but took off all the horses to play with :). My son on the other hand loves books or anything to do with cars

  128. Happy Birthday to your boy! As to the question my favorite toy as a child was either my stuffed music wind up dog, my hula hoop, or my sidewalk chalk.

  129. I think it was probably my Nintendo 64. My brothers had a sega and I got a Nintendo. Loved that machine. :)

  130. Hm, My favorite toy as a child… was a small stuffed cow. Really.
After I lost it… well, I don’t really know, I guess I was just obsessed with all kinds of Stuffed animals and Barbies…. lol

Happy Birthday to your son!! lol…

  131. I’d say it’d be a toss up between a kids’ play oven and a set of toys for playing doctor/dentist.
Looking back I’d say I was a weird kid :D
Happy birthday to the birthday boy :)

  132. I have to say the first toy(s) I fell in love with was Legos. I had the pirates collection and I played with those for hours on end!!

  133. Light Bright. It was a light board with black paper and transparent colored pegs. You made designs and they glowed. It was awesome. Me and my sister made lots of rainbows. Except there were never enough red. Happy Memory :)

  134. Happy Birthday!!! ( Belated ) to your son, I missed this posting but I’ll answer it anyway for fun! :)

My favorite toy was a Baby doll the size of a 1 year old that I named Hayley. I carried that doll with me everywhere (except when I went to school) until about first grade.

Then I decided I wanted to be a Veterinarian like my dad and tried to give our pets check ups.

Looking back I may have been a little bit weird ;p

Again Belated Birthday Wishes !!! :)

  135. Lincoln Logs and Breyer horses. I grew up in Texas and was crazy about horses. My parents bought me a Breyer horse, the Arabian mare and I spent hours building corrals and barns for my horse. For several years all anyone bought me were sets of lincoln logs and breyer horses. My mom knew if she couldn’t find me I was in my room building a new barn. The more lincoln logs I had the more elaborate the buildings got. I don’t have the lincoln logs anymore but I still have my collection of Breyer horses.

  136. As a child I use to love to play with my sisters Barbie dolls. They came with a assortment of shoes, clothes and other accessories that appealed to a child.

Happy (belated) Birthday to your son =)

  137. I guess I was an equal opportunity toy player. I did love my Barbies but I was equally happy to play out in the dirt with my brother and his cars.

  138. My favorite toy was a rocking horse you could get on and ride. It didn’t move but I could ride like the wind in one place.

  139. When I was a child my favorite toy was lincoln logs because even as a kid I always imagined myself having a cabin when I grew up.
