Silver Publishing Update!

I try to be fair so I wanted to make sure I posted an update on my Silver situation. Today I received 20% of my Q4 earnings on some of my Silver titles. It’s only a fraction of what Silver owes me and not for all of my books but it is at least a step in the right direction. All along I stated I just wanted some of my funds and a clearly communicated plan for paying me (i.e. to have my emails returned). I’m hoping this is movement in a more positive direction. *crosses fingers*

CORRECTION: After looking it over it appears that I was paid all of some titles which equals 20% of the total owed to me from Silver Publishing. I know it is a bit confusing 🙂

  1. will this influence the future of how many books u release thru Silver?? I was hoping they would provide u with more substancial funds then what u got??

      1. Quick question, with the publishing through your own site, will your site offer the send to kindle feature like TEB?

  2. I am happy to hear they are giving money but they need to give all of it…I mean WTH they sold the books if they did not pay ya’ll what in the sam hades did they do with the money…fishy fishy.

  3. I hope they pay you, and all their authors who are in the same situation, the rest of what they owe soon. Until they do it’s still theft in my eyes! I’m sorry they’ve caused you so much stress 😦

  4. I hope for your sake and the sake of the Lego fund that they do pay you all of your earning, but as an accountant, it looks to me like they are handing you something in hopes you are quiet. I hope you get your books that you have with Silver back soon.

    1. Hi Chris. It is interesting to see a comment from an Accountant. Silver should have ring-fenced author royalties, but instead chose to use them to *expand* Silver, leaving myself and Amber and many other authors severely out of pocket. I too think they are handing us money to keep us quiet. I think they are using the classic scheme of using royalties from new authors to try and catch up paying the old ones… sighs… RJ X

      1. I think you are on to something RJ. It sounds a little like hush money to me too. Also has the earmarks of a Ponzi scheme as well. I’m not an accountant, just a very skeptical old broad. Amber, hope you and RJ and all the others get what you are owed soon.

  5. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you get all that they owe you soon. It sucks to think that the money I spent on books didn’t go to the people who earned the money. It’s like they are one of those pirate sites that sell books without permission of the author…sigh

  6. Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. I believe I will continue not purchasing their publications for any authors. I can not support a company that believes the authors are not an integral part of their success.

  7. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll continue to give you *something* each month and that it’ll continue after you take your rights back when your contracts end. (At least, I assume that’s what you’ll be doing when you can.) Great big HUGS.

  8. First I want to say ” I LOVE YOUR BOOKS!!! ” I am really sorry that you are going through this with Silver. Why don’t you publish on BookStrand.com faster? Or are they just like Silver? I prefer book strand better anyway. The only reason I get your books on Silver is because they come out faster on Silver. If Silver is not paying like they should then I think it right to go to a new publisher. I will keep my fingers crossed that they clear this mess up. Sorry for the jumping around.

    1. I have a lot of books going over to Total-E-Bound and I will self-pub my Moon Pack since it is such a large series.

  9. This whole situation is nuts. I’m glad that they gave you some money, but really? Where’s the rest? Something is really fishy and wrong with this situation for all of you that published with Silver. I’ll cross my finger that you and everyone else gets the money they are owed, but I’m glad that you are getting away from them even if it means more work by self-publishing.

  10. You’re the second author I’ve heard about today with problems from Tarnish, I mean, Silver Publishing. Are they serious?

  11. Wells that’s good, at least it’s a start. I don’t shop at Silver anymore cause of all the problems.

  12. That is still only a stipends of what they owe you. I hope they get their act together and finish paying you what they owe you soon. Were they part of that suit brought against they by certain people for overcharging prices in bookstores possibly? If that be the case that could be why they are late on payments is because they are supposed to reimburse the people the overcharged a percentage of what was paid to them in the next few months. I got a letter stating as much from Barnes and Nobles. Don’t know when but I should be getting reimbursed for any and all books bought from April 1, 2010 to May 21, 2012. I will be getting e-credits.

  13. I’m glad to hear you have started to get something back, just hope you are given all you earned from your hard work back eventually and you find someone more deserving to publish your work.

  14. I’m glad you got some of your money and I hope you get the rest soon.
What they are doing is sooo wrong, good luck!! 🙂

  15. I hadn’t realised that there was such a problem with this publisher, I hope you will get your money back, but honestly you could publish your books yourself, it’s not like you don’t have a fanbase or reputation for outstanding m/m romance books!

    1. I will be doing that on some of my titles when I finally get the rights back 🙂

  16. I’m glad they’ve started to do the right thing, and hope they finish it by paying you all they owe and giving you your book rights back…I too think self-publishing would be better then you having to deal with this type of drama….good luck with Silver for the rest of what your due.

    1. Is there an update? I have been boycotting SP for all purchases. I have been downgraded from Platinum to Silver and will lose my VIP status at the end of the month.

      1. They are still doing the same thing they were before. They are paying me what they want when they want and refusing to give me back my books even though they know they are violating the contract we both signed.

  17. More Audible.com please! For those that aren’t, please use Nook or Kindle format. Not all of us can read the tiny print of some of the other formats. Some transport into my system at an 8… 10 or 12 is fine but an 8 – ouch! If we can’t adjust the type size, we’re out of luck.

  18. Hi. I purchased tons of books from SP and downloaded directly to my iPad. Now I need to restore them cause my iPad went nuts on me and I can’t get them from SP website. It sad that it’s under maintenance. Any idea how to get them?
