Welcome Birthday Guest KC Burn!

Happy Birthday, Amber! So pleased to be able to celebrate with you again! And with an intriguing premise… a birthday party I would throw for myself with some fictional characters attending.

A birthday party for me… who shall I invite?

First of all, I think I’d like to invite Cal and Ray from R. Cooper’s Some Kind of Magic. I’d love to meet a real werewolf, and Ray seems like a super cool werewolf who likely won’t eat you. Which I approve of. And I adore the way this whole series deals with fairies, especially Cal who seems utterly charming. Always nice to have an extrovert at a party! I wouldn’t mind if they brought along Bertie from A Boy and His Dragon, because, well, dragon shifter! Possibly the coolest kind of shifter.

Secondly, I’d probably invite Percival Whyborne from Jordan L. Hawk’s Whyborne and Griffin series. He could certainly bring Griffin as his plus one, but with the magic, the museum knowledge, and access to cool artifacts I think Whyborne is the one I’d like to get to know better!

Thirdly, I’d love to invite Amelia Peabody from Elizabeth Peters’ series. Not only do I love her fortitude and forthrightness, but she’s an Egyptologist around the time Howard Carter discovered King Tut’s tomb – totally intriguing.

Finally, since we’re indulging in a bit of fantasy… I’d want to throw the party on planet Regelence from J.L. Langley’s Sci-Fi Regency series. Because then we could have a super fancy meal in a castle on another planet! Go big or go home, right?

And balloons. I really, really love balloons. Of course… you’re all invited too J

Blurb for Set Ablaze:

California firefighter Hayden Hurst is starting to realize there’s more to life than fighting fires and drinking with his buddies. He has room in his home and his life for someone special, but no one has stood out among his hookups. And while he’s out at work, admitting he’s gay is very different from showing up at social functions with a man. He’s afraid that’ll be too much for his less-than-accepting “friends.”

Broadway dancer Jez Bouchet hasn’t been mistaken for straight since he was gay-bashed at seventeen. After getting a lucrative job offer in Hollywood, he uproots his life in New York and drives to Los Angeles. His brother, who is Hayden’s best friend, arranges for him to crash at Hayden’s place.

he attraction between Hayden and Jez is unexpected but fiery, and they succumb before they’re even sure they like each other. But Jez hates Hayden’s homophobic friends, and Hayden knows Jez is too flamboyant for him to fly under the radar. Then there’s the complication of Jez’s brother.

Despite those hurdles, they fling themselves into a relationship. But Jez has secrets: a tiny spoiled dog and a determined stalker. If he doesn’t come clean, he might torch their burgeoning relationship before it has a chance to bloom.

Set Ablaze is available at Dreamspinner Press and Amazon.

Bio:

KC Burn has been writing for as long as she can remember and is a sucker for happy endings (of all kinds).  After moving from Toronto to Florida for her husband to take a dream job, she discovered a love of gay romance and fulfilled a dream of her own — getting published.  After a few years of editing web content by day, and neglecting her supportive, understanding hubby and needy cat at night to write stories about men loving men, she was uprooted yet again and now resides in California. Writing is always fun and rewarding, but writing about her guys is the most fun she’s had in a long time, and she hopes you’ll enjoy them as much as she does.

  1. Your party sounds like one I would love to attend. What with a dragon shifter, a werewolf and on a planet full of handsome men what more do you need.

  2. Amelia is the one I would most like to meet. That woman is so funny. I really wouldn’t mind meeting Emerson too. I was so sorry when her last book came out and I knew there would be no more. It sounds like a really good party have fun.

  3. I’d love to crash your party and bring a few paranormal friends, too. With guests like Whyborne and Griffin and Cal and Ray, your party will be groovy (yep, old hippie)! BTW, I’m glad Ray finally figured stuff out–he was breaking Cal’s heart!

  4. That’s a party I would love to join, of course. I am sure Fireworks would ensue… 😉

  5. Oh that would be a fun party. I would love to invite the crew from Destructive Delta. Dex and Sloan’s and their crew would add to the shenanigans

  6. I think I would like to come to your party and meet Percival and Griffin. I like the series.

  7. I have to agree with you about the egyptologist and the museum expert, with appropriate artifacts to show of course, that would be awesome.
