Welcome Birthday Guest Sheri Lyn!

I’m so excited to be here to help celebrate Amber’s birthday month. What a fun and unique way to party. Thank you Amber for giving me the honor of being here!

I’ve spent the couple weeks thinking on this topic and I’m amazed at how hard it is to pick who I’d invite to my birthday party. I can’t recall the last birthday party I actually had and being a twin, I’ve never had one on my own to begin with.

When I thought about who I wanted to invite the first couple that came to mind are from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Worlds. Acheron from the Dark Hunters and Syn and Jules ‘Dagger’ from the League series. They are three of my favorite characters of all time.

The next would be Harry Dresden from the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher because who wouldn’t want a wizard at their party??

Finally I came to my characters. This is where the real trouble came in, how do you pick from them all??  I finally settled on my boys from the Safe Haven Series. These eight men have never experienced a birthday party and I’d love to show them what they are all about. And just for them I’d make sure there were a couple of chocolate cakes, because I know they’d devour the first one and leave everyone else without. The last thing we need is a couple of Assassins, a Wizard and a God without cake.

As to gifts, I’m giving them away. So, I’m offering up two copies of my newest release on ebook.  It’s called Black Hollow: Silver Linings.  My sister and I created the town of Black Hollow. It’s a safe place for paranormal creatures to live as they are. We’ve invited our friends to write in the town as well. So, far Frankenstein’s monster and a Mummy and a dragon have their story.  Upcoming we have the necromancer and a zombie 😀

Silver DeTourney hit rock bottom and the only place left to go was Black Hollow. The mysterious Seraphine offered him a job and a place to stay. He never expected to find a home and a family.

Cade Osiris was content to hide from the world and lose himself in his work, letting the days pass him by. Cursed by a god and turned into a mummy he only lived half a life until he saw Silver.

A misunderstanding between them led Silver to hide again, this time with the help of the Black Hollow residents. Cade is left to make a grand gesture to win Silver back.

Excerpt:

“Go on, because right now it’s about as clear as mud. I’ve heard of nudist camps and things like that for like to find like, but never a whole town for people that dress up as creatures and monsters and the such.”

“Ah, but that’s the thing. This is not make-believe, we’re not pretending to be anything. What you see is who we are. No lies, no costumes, no illusions, we are the creatures or beings you see.”

Silver opened his mouth to respond but didn’t know what he could say. Apparently, insanity was contagious after all. Maybe he could ask the doctor to up whatever psychotropic meds they were giving him because obviously, it wasn’t strong enough to stop the delusions from continuing.

“You’re not losing your mind,” Seraphine said gently as she patted his arm. “I know this is a lot to take in but hear me out. I come from a long line of Seer’s, my family was tired of seeing those of our kind being destroyed, hunted and killed for something they couldn’t help. We created this town because the world couldn’t handle the knowledge that anything different from them could exist. The witches had found a home in Salem, but the rest of the worlds paranormal creatures were too spread out to join together as they had. Black Hollow was created to fill that void. Any paranormal could live here, be themselves and learn to thrive. Over the centuries we’ve grown and become what you see today. We’ve learned to adapt to the world as it changes, while still keeping ourselves hidden enough to survive.”

“So, you want me to believe that these aren’t costumes. That those are real wings? That the ice cream store with the guy who looks like Bigfoot aren’t make-believe really…. What?”

    1. Lol. Well I hope you like book 1. But they are stand alone but are linked. You’ll see the same characters interact but you dont have to read all of the books.

  2. Would love to come to you party just so I could meet Harry. He is some one I would love to talk to.

  3. Your Black Hollow series sounds good I’ll have to check it out. And I’d love to be invited to your party. Do you think you’d have enough room to park my semi out front?

  4. Sheri I would love to attend your party and meet Harry and the others. You’re a new-to-me author and your Safe Haven series and Black Hollow series sound fascinating. Thanks for the chance to win Silver Linings.

  5. Black Hollow sounds really interesting, I’m going to have to check it out. I dont think I’ve ever read a story where the love interest was a mummy, how cool 🙂

    1. That’s what makes Black Hollow so much fun. So many paranormal beings to meet and watch fall in love. It’s going to be so much fun to see what characters come up next.

  6. This series sounds really interesting. I’ll have to check it out. Another to add to the TBR list.
