First, I’d like to thank Amber for inviting me to share in her birthday blogapoloosa! Happy Birthday, Amber, and may the next year be filled with good health, great joy, and a trunkful of bestsellers!
I’ve had lots of birthdays — I’m lucky, indeed — and have had my share of highs and lows. One of the most memorable was my 40th, when my husband surprised me with a 7-day cruise. Just the two of us, no kids, no worries, no hassles. Open seas, fresh air, dolphins swimming alongside the ship, tropical drinks served poolside — it was marvelous, and just what I needed at that juncture of my life. I needed the break, the stress-relief, and I was grateful I had a hubbie who understood.
I’m always up for a cruise. I find it so relaxing to leave my cellphone turned off, and turn my imagination on full blast. I love taking my laptop to the pool deck, scouting out a table at the railing where I can smell the sea and watch the whitecaps and seabirds and occasional dolphin frolicking, and pound out the wordage.
Mind you, taking plenty of breaks to swim, drink, eat, and otherwise make merry. It’s great!
Now that I’ve shared my favorite birthday memory with you, I’d like to share something else – a free book! I’ll pick a name at random from all who post here to win a copy of my newest release, Shifting Responsibility, a Midnight Rodeo Book.
Midnight Rodeo is a shared universe I write with the uber talented B.A. Tortuga and Julia Talbot. It centers on a rodeo run for and by paranormal creatures. In my latest book, Shifting Responsibility, we meet Loki, a corgi-shifter, and Bailey, a fainting goat shifter, and their nemesis, Epoch, a relative of Chronos, the god of Time.
You can find Shifting Responsibility, as well as the other books in the Midnight Rodeo Series at http://www.evilplotbunny.com/index.php/series/midnight-rodeo-shared-universe-series/ or at Amazon
I’ve never been on a cruise, but it sounds fun! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
I would be too seasick to enjoy a cruise but I think it’s a wonderful was to celebrate a birthday if you don’t suffer from it.
I have never come across a fainting goat shifter before and find the idea intriguing so I’m adding the book to my wishlist.
The book sounds great. I’ve never done the cruise thing either. ‘course, I’m not much of a traveler in general.
Books sounds great

I’ve been on a cruise it was good. Though the next cruise I want to go on is to The Inside Passage of Alaska. My sister went she and her husband had fun.
I haven’t read the Midnight Rodeo series yet though. Shifting Responsibility sounds fun.
I have to admit that a cruise makes me nervous. Too many headlines the last few years, I suppose.
I ran across a Midnight Rodeo book some time ago. I’ll look for all three authors.
Not fond of being on the water so far from land and your book sounds interesting
