Having fun!

I hope everyone who enjoys Thanksgiving had a good one! I’ve been having some fun and enjoying time with my family. I dragged my hubby and son to a paint and sip yesterday, and this is the painting I did. I’m not artistically inclined, but I had a lot of fun.

As I was at the painting place, I thought it would be an excellent spot for a story. Two men meet at a paint and sip… Hmm. I’ll have to give that some thought. To make up for my neglect the past few days I’m going to run one more contest. $25.00 GC to Amazon for one lucky winner. We will be picking all the winners first week of December so take the time to sneak into any of the contests you haven’t entered. I promise not to look at entry dates *wink wink*.

To enter this contest let me know your favorite creative endeavor, or if you aren’t creative, what do you like to do to have fun. Maybe it will become the basis of a book. A series entitled, creative encounters or something like it….lol.

  1. Baking is my creative endeavor at the time being but also my creative failure lol. At least I have more wins than losses.

  2. A long time ago, I used to make porcelain dolls. The studio I went to poured the moIds and after they’d been fired in the kiln and cooled, the students took it from there. It’s a lot of work: painting eyebrows, eyelashes, lip and cheek color; attaching limbs, glass eyes, and finally choosing a wig. I spent more money on doll clothes and accessories than I spent on myself. It was a lot of fun, but I ran out of space to display them.

  3. I sew, from re-enactor garb for SCA or Renaissance Faires, fantasy/sci-fi costumes, and cosplay. If something isn’t commercially available and/or exists only in a person’s imagination, I make it!

  4. My favorite creative outlet has always been photography.  I got a 110 Kodak camera when I was a young teen.  After that, I got a 35mm and an assortment of lenses and I was more than hooked.  I still love taking photos now many years later but they’re all digital now and I rarely print them.  But it’s still fun to see how they turn out.  I just don’t have to wait days or weeks to get them developed anymore.  Glad you had a wonderful thanksgiving and a fun time at the paint & sip.  I love your pic!

  5. Those are a lot of fun. My daughter and I do those on our birthdays too. Sometimes painting, sometimes ceramics.

I do all sorts of creative stuff (not counting writing). I do wood crafts, and cake decorating, and make jewelry. I think kumihimo is my favorite though.

  6. Photography and scrapbooking. I go away with girlfriends four or five times a year and we chat and work on our scrapbooks.

  8. I like to try out new baking recipes and in recent years I’ve been trying to expand what kind of projects I can do with crocheting.

  9. I am actually a good artist I draw very well.
In high school I used to pick a picture(3by4) out of a comic book(Xmen or Elf Quest) and draw it on an 8 by 11 sheet of paper. Side by side they looked exactly the same picture.

  10. Ive started getting into paint by numbers and i love hanging up the pieces once ive finished then

  11. I take picture frames and wall decals and make my own pictures. I find it soothing when I feel overwhelmed.

  12. I have been really into diamond art for the last year though I also do embroidery and cross stitch. I recently picked up some felting kits to try out, too.

    1. Classes I’ve taken over the years: photography, pottery making, painting, skiing, ceramics, golfing. I think I want to try glass blowing next. A friend just did it and made a vase.

  13. I love to sing but I don’t really consider that creative. My creativity comes out when I decide I have the patience to sit down and make some jewelry. The little pieces can make me very frustrated. My photography is calming because I don’t shoot people. I love shooting the moon and animals.

  14. Happy Thanksgiving, Amber! I usually make decorations. As a teacher I have to exercise my creative side a lot, so depending if the season, that’s the theme I use to make decorations.

  15. Happy Thanksgiving and during the pandemic I was off for 6 weeks as my school district tried to figure out a way for us to work safely so I grabbed a paint kit from a local paint and sip place and tried my hand at it. I am not at all creative like that but I did okay, I think and I hang it on my wall. :-p

  16. I just returned from the Caribbean. If I am not reading floating in the ocean and snorkeling is my favorite pass time.

  17. I enjoy crocheting. While everyone in the family has received one, I crochet lap blankets for hospice. I love putting the different colors together.

  18. I like sewing and creating useful things. During the height of COVID, I made masks by the hundreds. I am now working on bowl cozies for that hold bowl of soup.

  19. I like to do cross stitch patterns I also paint wood and ceramic crafts. I made my husband a Halloween diorama this year.

  20. It’s not very fascinating, but I enjoy cross stitching. I also started etching and wood burning recently, so I’m not very good at it. But hopefully in time I’ll get better. I’d love to learn to do that clay art stuff, I forget the actual name of it, but it’s what Demi’s character does in the movie Ghost.
